The M Series provides a
comprehensive range of system scales and printers to cover all the
different requirements of counter service or self-service, pre-pack and
point of sale areas. These terminals can be used in stand-alone
mode or linked together into departmental or store-wide networks.
The M Series is
specifically designed to lower scale operational costs and deliver
considerable savings in staff and management time. Each version
incorporates a powerful 32-bit microprocessor, up to eight megabytes of
memory to hold product information and printer graphics, and ‘Flash’
memory to simplify future upgrades. Integral printers offer a choice of
fast, high quality receipt and/or label printing, while optional ECR
functionality and cash drawers create a total point-of-sale system.

M
Series - Cost of Ownership
Research has shown that
total lifetime costs of a label-producing counter scale can be up to ten
times greater than the original purchase price. The M series has
been designed to cut these costs by up to 25% through reduced
operational costs and savings in staff and management time.
Cost saving features
include:
A high quality thermal
label printer, capable of printing logos and graphics, which
eliminates the need to buy and stock different labels for each
department within the store.
Double length cassette
label rolls which need replacing less often than conventional rolls
and can be re-loaded in just 10 seconds, saving staff time and
improving customer service.
Easy to clean and
change print heads, reducing maintenance costs and downtime and
improving reliability.
A bar code integrity
checker to ensure labels scan first time, every time at the
checkout, saving staff time.
‘Flash memory’ and
standard Ethernet TCP/IP communications to enable the scales to be
added directly to existing store networks, reducing installation
time and costs. All configuration, software installation,
updates and diagnostics can be carried out remotely from one central
point, saving management time and reducing number of maintenance
visits.
Optional Spread
Spectrum (802.11b) Radio Frequency communications to eliminate the
need for network cabling, reducing the cost of installation and
changes to store layouts.
Easy to use customer
self-service model – saves time compared to weighing and pricing
at the checkout.
